Local Traditions
Please bear in mind that for many people Sunday is considered a day of rest (and our only family day!) however things are much more relaxed than in the past with ferries and planes now operating on Sundays and restaurants open. There is a shop and filling station open in Stornoway, however, please bear in mind that supermarkets will not be open on Sundays. The main supermarkets in Stornoway are Tesco and Co-op which are both open very late on a Sat evening. Tarbert has a limited number of food outlets.
